San Francisco’s Owl Paws have set in motion a follow up to last year’s self-titled EP.  Leading the way to Carry On, their forthcoming EP, is the single “Sunrise.”

Owl Paws does not make the sound that will propel them to national radio stations instantly. Instead, they craft genuinely honest folk with purpose. The sound is top-notch and their newest single drills home my confidence in them. “Sunrise” is a big step in the right direction for a sound that was very strong, but with only their self-titled release, I was cautiously optimistic.

The upbeat riff, swaying bass lick opening builds into an infectious, highly addictive song. By tossing in some strings and harmony the band from San Francisco has it. Catchy, pure and clean, the tempting allure of “Sunrise” is sure to play well into the upcoming six track Urban Scandal release.

Owl Paws shows a lot of growth in “Sunrise” while keeping tightly to a style we came to love on Owl Paws. Their ability to be precise dreamy folk with a welcoming grace is evident in their latest single and builds my intrigue for the full album. Sadly, we can’t share it, yet, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Until then, the band is on tour, be sure to check them out.
