“Punk Goes Acoustic” was the title of a successful compilation released by Fearless Records, which inspired many young punk-rock musicians to rearrange their songs strictly unplugged.

This appears to be the case for the pop/punk band from Indiana Trash The Dress, which, to celebrate worthily the final tour date of “A Week On The Road With Trash The Dress” at Bobby McGee’s in Chicago Ridge, IL, performed a fully unplugged – two guitars and vocals – “Akward Phase” (from the upcoming full length record via Capeside Records; releasing early 2013). Despite being played in a quite bare and atypical way for a punk band, “Akward Phase” manages to hit the mark, making it a great appetizer, for their full length album. A song that already works well played just on acoustic guitar and vocals has nailed it and I’m sure that pop-punk fans will aim their sights on the album from Trash The Dress, having had this succulent taste of it.
