Treefort 2016

Treefort Music Festival has released round 1 of artist for the 2016 Festival set to take place in downtown Boise, Idaho March 23-27, 2016.

The list includes some familiar faces, some pretty obvious crowd pleasers and, what Treefort does best, quite a bit of names you might not be familiar with.

In them maze of hundreds of bands in multiple venues over five days you’re undoubtedly going to find yourself weighing which band you should see over the others. Well to make that decision easier, or maybe harder, we’ve run down a few bands to help find some potential gems in the already treasure-filled festival.

Let’s look at some surefire, and some potentially hidden gems, of Treefort 2016.

The Main Trail:

Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires

The Screaming Eagle of Soul is sure to bring a performance not to miss. Brilliant soul is tough to come by these days and at Treefort 2016, it is coming.

Chelsea Wolfe

The genre bending, ominous, presence of Wolfe, under the lights of Treefort has us already envisioning what could be.

Thee Oh Sees

The Bay Area garage quartet psychedelic sound will echo though your ears, off the walls of the Fort and back while you’re grinning ear-to-ear. Fans wanted, Treefort listened. Together the Thee Oh Sees experience shall be joyously shared.

Off The Trail Worth Checking Out:

Bryan John Appleby

Last year’s Treefort brought great, and we mean great, gems out of the woodwork in the form of singer/songwriters. Take a load of the hectic schedule with the likes of Bryan John Appleby.

Flaural

4 friends that call the Mile High City home are bringing their early Shins-esc sound to the Festival. Things from Denver are good. Things from Denver in Boise are better. This is a surefire show to ignite all the wonderful definitions of “hidden gem” you can imagine.

Helvetia

This may or not be a band that is or is not a branch from the Built To Spill grand lineage of amazing musicians. Helvetia may or may not have also released Dromomania this year which is a really awesome record…maybe…

Máscaras

Portland, Oregon is home to a lot. Well… But did you know its home to this band and their track “City In Ruins”? Did you? Well you should. Because this live would be worth a whole day of planning.

Radiation City

Somewhere beautiful harmonies and synth merged into a captivatingly brilliant array that calls themselves Radiation City. Get lost in this show.

Strange Wilds

If picking up the rock torch and running with it is more of your cup-o-tea, we’re thinking Strange Wilds would be a surefire way to spark some energy between trips to Alefort.

These are just a few of the great bands in Round 1 of artist announcements with hundreds more yet to come. Only the music gods know. But for now, we have scratched the surface and know how you can get tickets to Treefort Music Fest 2016!
