Playing to a packed Neurolux, Portland’s Experimental Pop foursome AAN, seethed experimentation. Like some sort of possessed dance, Bud Wilson belted out great harmonies before twisting into a vocal breakdown of sporadic lyrics. Having no prior knowledge of AAN (another thing that makes Treefort so great) to walk into their performance was certainly memorable.
A roll of the dice brought us to the Neurolux at just that moment and the balance between the crowd and the band solidified the reason they made it out to the festival. AAN’s resonating performance, complete with great instrumentals and a melodious, yet borderline spastic, vocals was certainly well received and enjoyed by all. They made us want to hear more from the very first chord.
