The surprise find of Treefort Music Fest 2013, Boise’s own Stoneseed packed Tom Grainey’s shoulder to shoulder, closer than anyone would normally stand to one another unless they’re deeply in love, and no one cared.
We stumbled into one of the best venues downtown Boise has to offer and would be forever changed. With one of the shortest descriptions in the festival’s “Trail Guide,” stating simply “Treasure Valley rooted folk drawing from blues, gypsy jazz, and Americana,” the trio (playing live as a foursome), sucked the passersby’s off the street and hypnotized everyone with beautifully orchestrated, heartfelt, honest music that could not be resisted.
Lindsey Hunt Terrell and Ty Clayton shared stage front and vocal duties like pros. Their organic delivery was the essence of everything Treefort and attendees could have hoped for. In just under an hour, those who knew them got their fix, those who didn’t became a lifelong fan. Not a single person could have left that show and said anything other than “wow.”
